At RECSOM our courses are accessible, as much as possible, as they are yet to be accredited, In regards to prior study there are two routes to qualifying for our courses, one based on your prior study (the education route) or if you do not meet the requirements of the education route, there is also a mature entry route.
The Educational Route
If you are aged 18 or above you can apply for the course via the education route if you have the following:
For the Diploma:
- Minimum of NVQ Level 4
- Teacher Certificate or
- University Degree
For the Certificate:
- NVQ 1-3
- No formal education but Literacy Certificate
For the Certificate in Tent Making:
- Church Worker or Ordained Minister without any educational qualification.
The Mature Route
If you are unable to meet the requirements for admission through the educational route, we will consider your application through the mature route. Once we receive your completed application form we will ask you to complete and pass an initial student assessment that will be based essentially on your life’s Christian experience.
Interview
As part of the admissions policy you will be invited for an interview. This is an informal interview which gives us a chance to get to know each student, an opportunity for the student to see the campus and for the school to find the motivation for studying at RECSOM.
